Injuries
Yesterday was a huge boost to confidence and our form changing hopefully; however, we've got a problem with injuries.

Zouma, Ogbonna, Cresswell and Johnson are all on the sidelines and with the run of games we have coming up, it couldn't have come at a worse time.

Hopefully, none of the injuries picked up yesterday are long-term, but if they are, we might struggle.

So, are we going to drop off a cliff, or can we continue pushing on despite our threadbare defence?

Just read that Ex is reporting Zouma's knee injury could be serious. FFS.

Re: Injuries
Zouma's clearly our best CB but Dawson and Diop have done OK together in the EL games. Not ideal but we should be getting another 1st choice CB in January anyway, so hopefully we can hold out with them two for a month if we really need to. There's always the option for Rice to play at the back, and with Lanzini playing well in a deeper role maybe we wouldn't miss him too much in midfield.

I expect Cresswell will be back next week. Not sure if he can cope with all the games we have in December so hopefully Johnson will be back soon as cover. If Masuaku has to play at LB at all then I can't see many clean sheets on the horizon so our attackers will need their scoring boots on for us to get any points, or maybe Arfur'll go on a run of scoring flukey goals himself.

Re: Injuries
Think Cresswell is due back soon. Johnson didn't look too bad and we're well covered at RB. Artur can manage one or two games at LB if need be.

Zouma's injury looked serious. Obviously him and Oggy both out is a blow, but Dawson & Diop are great back ups and are well up to speed already as a partnership.

Gonna have to keep converting our chances as we did yesterday because we will concede more goals.

If Zouma is fucked then we need to get Tarkowski in Jan. The end.

The U23’s are top of the league.
Some real decent prospects, time to give them a run out.
Exuberance of youth

I see that Kral has played a fair bit at Centre Back. Will be interesting to see if he gets a run out there against Zagreb.

Re: Injuries
A lot of clubs getting a lot of injuries now, far too many games and all to satisfy the TV companies.

I think Burnley lost Cornet yesterday so that makes out game against them SLIGHTLY easier.

Tarkowski, Berge, Lingard and Bayo.

Yes I’m being greedy.

Re: Injuries
We were looking to get CH in Jan before Zouma got injured so we could now do with getting in 2, 1 permanent and 1 loan. If we signed Tarkowski on a permanent and Ake on loan from Man City, that wouldn’t be too shabby

Re: Injuries
Zouma has history of an ACL - he could be done for the season with Ogbonna. Johnson is a hammy that’s 6 weeks minimum even at grade 1.

Cresswell will be back for Burnley.

Baptiste needs a run out on Thursday.

It’s going to be a really tough December now - they need deals lined up for the 1st and not 31st of Jan - they need min 1 CB and 1 forward through the door before the hangover has even begun on NYD.

Re: Injuries
Hope not as bad as feared but hardly surprising the injury list is growing. All clubs face this but those that are well run build a squad not a team. We’ll need big pockets in Jan or will end up mid table

U23's won yesterday without Ashby,Baptiste,Perkins and Chesters . Alese scored a wonder goal but gave away a penalty too.
Expect all of them to grab some minutes.
Alese is left footed. He maybe what is needed but Baptiste is rated higher.
Fredericks didn't make the Chelsea match day squad again. If he doesn't make the Zagreb squad then Ashby will play.

Re: Injuries
Zouma injured himself when he tried to tackle Havertz - also injuring Harvertz at same time!
He carried on and appeared to go to ground when unchallenged in second half.

Hopefully it’s not too bad.

Centre half is our strongest area. Kral has also
played there a lot and we have the worlds best centre half currently playing in midfield. So options for Moyes.

Plus window opens soon. Get any deals done now and announce on the 1st.

Re: Injuries
Would not be surprised if the Zouma injury was serious simply due to him being in real pain as he tried to make his way back. I did not take notice of which knee it was but suspect/think it was the right one which is the one he had the ACL and 6 months out back in 2016.

Johnson I saw 2 - 4 weeks mentioned as it was a low grade hammy but worst case its through to 6 weeks and mid-Jan.

Either way we need a CB ( Philips from Pool is my wild guess ) and striker back up.
